Concept of Home-stay
“Home-stay”. It is really one of the awesome concepts. Especially for those places where the beauty of nature is waiting for the tourists but due to the inadequacy of the environment, there are difficulties in building accommodation or hotels for the tourists in those places.
Landmark step in India's tourism business
In order to create the right impetus for tourism, the first thing that needs to be done is to arrange the appropriate infrastructure for travel to the place. After that it is necessary to arrange suitable accommodation for the tourists. And next to that it is the most important to arrange the proper homely food for the tourists. In that case, the idea and introduction of Home Stay is a landmark step in India's tourism business to provide a comfortable and safe place to stay and eat for a large number of people to facilitate tourism in rural or hilly areas.

Two immediate benefits
In many places in the marginal tourist areas, there is a shortage of hotels compared to the demand. In that case, by encouraging the local residents, by arranging separate extra rooms in their residences and arranging them neatly, if the tourists can be accommodated, then two benefits are immediately available.
1st benefit
Tourists can be directly united psychologically with the place, the environment, the people where they have gone. Suppose you go on a trip to the Silk Route in Sikkim, there is no so-called hotel in that sense. You arranged to stay at a local home. The house owner and his wife set up a clean room for you in their house, an attached bathroom with Indian or English style of your choice, and In addition to your breakfast, lunch and dinner, a light evening snacks also will be served to you by that mountainous family that arranges everything like them. If you want, in your spare time, you can have tea with them like the man of the house, talk to them over tea or start working in the kitchen. In the evenings, while teaching the children at home, the mother is baking bread in the oven, or taking care of the housework. By that way, you will be drowning in the sweet juice of India and Indianness little by little. The big benefit is that you never feel like you’re out of your home.

This is the first benefit and of course it is for the visitors, and the second is,
2nd benefit
2) The concept of home stay is capable of making a wonderful impact on the rural and marginal economy. The states of Sikkim, Kerala etc. have been able to achieve tremendous improvement in the economy of their states through home stay and its proper implementation.
Even in the many new little-known places in the hilly regions of West Bengal, places where tourists wanted to go because of their natural beauty, they did not go before because of the lack of accommodation. Nowadays, the tourism business has also increased in those places after the introduction of this home stay system. For example, Chatakpur, Lamahatta, Tinchule near Darjeeling and several places in Dooars are now attracting more tourists than ever before.

Thus it is understood that the concept of home stay and
its deliberate implementation is capable of having a good enough effect on the
economy of the country or state as well.
Determination and the proper implementation of
planning can fetch success.
Sunil, a dreamer from Kerala.
I remember in 2010 after attending three-day tourism fair organized by the Kerala government in Cochin, Kerala, I went to Cochin, Kottayam or Kumarakkam, Thekkady or Kumilli and Munnar to survey hotels at the invitation of several hotels in Kerala. The gentle man whose name was Sunil was with me on my three-day trip from Cochin. Sunil was my charioteer on that journey.
Sunil's house is in a village near the tea garden near Thekkady. During Sunil's childhood, Sunil's mother moved to her father's house with her son to escape the abuse of her alcoholic husband. From then on, Sunil was the jewel in the eye of Sunil's grandparents. Before his death, his grandfather and grandmother passed their house to Sunil and some lands to their daughter, Sunil's mother. The 35-year-old boy bought the car by selling surplus crops from the field, and the aspiring boy, who had learned to drive, was also earning some money by touring Kerala with tourists at the time.

During my three-day visit, Sunil told me thoroughly about his plans. He wants to make a home stay in their house on the hillside of Thekkady, but at that time there were only three rooms in their house, Sunil took his wife and baby son in one and his mother in the other. The rest of the room was reserved for their family guests. But it was not possible to make a ‘home stay’ with this one room only. So Sunil and his wife were thinking and saving a little bit to make their dream come true and gradually building their one-storey house into a two-storey homestay.
His wife Gauri was in touch at the time to find out the details and get a license at the government level.
Even this young optimistic boy and girl thought about the design of the new bed, the color of the bathroom accessories and the color of the curtains of the rooms at that time.
Today, after so many days, it is a pleasure to think that these two dreamy and hardworking boy and girl continue to serve countless travel-loving people from all over India with their love and sincerity in the far reaches of Kerala.
Love, Sincerity and proper service to your guests is
the main key.
So in order to start a home stay business, first of all you have to strengthen your mind, you have to love your guests from the bottom of your heart, be sincere and be careful enough to give them daily service.

They need to arrange food and drink at the right time and keep their living room, bed, and bathroom clean and tidy. Care should be taken to ensure that there are no errors in the service during their stay.
