On The Lap Of The Silky way, Part - 3

On The Lap Of The Silky way, Part - 3

It was six o'clock in the morning. A girl with a kettle of tea, along with the youngest member of the household, appeared with biscuits on a tray. This girl is very sweet and funny. From yesterday I have been observing her, she is working tirelessly, but not silently.  Always she is singing, and what a melodious voice, with a perfect knowledge of tune and rhythm. Popular old Hindi songs are sung more often, sometimes very sweet folk songs in her own language. I don't think the girl can live without music. Maybe many imperfections, sorrows and grieves of life are covered in this way all over the sky of the world of his melody.

Ramdhura and Ichche Gaon are two very beautiful places near Silarigaon. Many people spend the night in Ramdhura or Ichche Gaon. The view of the sunrise over the head of Kanchenjunga from Ramdhura captivates the mind. The village of Ramdhura, nestled in a pine grove of only 5,000 feet, is only fifteen kilometers from Dello in Kalimpong and eighty-six kilometers from Siliguri. That is why one can spend a comfortable night in Ramdhura with Kalimpong. There are also many home stays to stay in Ramdhura. Although I have already said that in all the homestays here, the food is almost the same. Cinchona is widely cultivated in the region, although it has been declining lately due to lack of government interest. Due to the relatively low altitude, many birds can be seen here and you can see many colorful butterflies.

If you want to avoid the crowds of Kalimpong you can stay at Ramdhura or icche gaon instead of Kalimpong. In that case you can see Kalimpong, Dello Hills, Durpin Dara, Ramite Dara, Ramsang Fort, Pedong City, and even Tinchule View Point from here. In the same way Icchegaon is another very beautiful place, which will make your mind feel good in the moment. In general, all the points I have mentioned, can be seen from these three places i.e. Ramdhura, Ichchegaon and Silarigaon. However, it is better not to mess them with the Silk Route tour. Usually on the first day of the Silk Route, it is customary to see Silari Gaon on the way to Sikkim the next day, but if you have the time and opportunity, you can also make a schedule of your choice. The other popular tourist destinations that have attracted a lot of attention lately in this part are Chatakpur, Lava, Lolegaon, Rishop, Tinchule etc. All these places are located on the northern border of the state of West Bengal, bordering Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

Another place near to this area has become very popular now, its name is Kolakham. The location of this Kolakham across the undeveloped part of the Neora valley Reserve Forest. Kolakham is a wonderful environment amidst high hills and dense forests on all four sides. There is a fountain nearby. You can go to Kolakham with Kalimpong, Lava, Lolegaon, but you must spend two quiet nights here. Here the birds talk in the trees, the constant cool breeze will hug you like a friend, the murmur of the trees and the fragrance of the forest will want to hug you. I'm sure you can't forget Kolakham even if you want to.

Kolakham can be taken out with Silk Route Tour even. In that case you can visit Kolakham, then visit Rolep in Sikkim and go to other places of Silk Route Tour or on the way back you can go to Rolep via Rangli and spend two days in Kolakham and from there you can return to Siliguri via Kalimpong. All in all, this whole area is a very beautiful heavenly place for the crazy people to visit. It is as if the Goddess of Nature has poured out all her forms, juices and joys in this entire region.

After finishing the tea, we hurried back to our room, finished our morning activities and went for a walk. It's half past six on the clock. We are going to see the 'Ramitey View Point'. About two and a half kilometers walking path. The soft wet dirt path on the semi-forest road. The Tamarisk and pine leaves are lying on the way. The smell of earthenware is coming to the nose. Clean air. It seems that the sky, the soil, the plants, the call of this gentle bird, this soft sun, everything is wonderfully pure and holy.

As far as the vision is concerned, only the rows of winding hills, sometimes from the depths of the ditch or sometimes from the top of the hill, a soft to intense melody of the sounds of the wings of the supernatural crickets is floating in the wind. It was as if foam of intense joy rose from inside the heart and wrapped around the throat. After a small bend, the road narrowed and went to the front. As soon as I got up a few feet, I was amazed and fascinated.

The horizon extends to Kanchenjunga, widely scattered and looks very closer to here, as if to be touched immediately. The river Teesta flows far below. It looks like a thin thread from above. Wave after wave, as if the waves of the mountain stretched from the horizon to infinity. I sat in silence for a long time on the very top of this dense mountain. The call of the infinite awoke in my mind by itself.

About two hours later we returned to our temporary house. Now it's time to go. Today we will go to Mankhim. The breakfast episode needs to be completed as soon as possible.
